Last week, while visiting the Dave And Busters Orlando convention. I got the opportunity to visit the new Dave & Buster’s on International Drive. It was built on the site formerly held by the Race Rock restaurant, which was demolished to make way for Dave & Buster’s.

I fear that clients who descend them after consuming a substantial amount of alcohol would get a severe injury. This is the only entertainment venue of this size on the second story that I have ever attended without escalators.

Facility Is Essentially Organized Into Four Sections

The Dave And Busters Orlando facility is essentially organized into four sections: a huge bar and lounge space (with tables and chairs) at the entry, a restaurant to the right, a massive game room with 170 games to the back, and a redemption store to the left. To the right of the game room are three private rooms that can accommodate up to 200 people when combined.

Acoustic Treatments That Targeted Sound Absorption

We did not play any of the games, but the selection was both vast and contemporary. It appeared like all games were set to maximum volume, making communication in the game room difficult. There were no acoustic treatments that targeted sound absorption or reverberation reduction that I could find. The Dave And Busters Orlando roof deck appeared to unprotected.

Arrangement Of The Four Big Bass Wheel Machines

The only thing that struck me as odd in the game room was the arrangement of the four Big Bass Wheel machines at Dave And Busters Orlando along a wall. We ordered a shared appetizer at Dave And Busters Orlando. We believed we were taking the safe route when we ordered pretzel nuggets with three dipping sauces. The pretzel nuggets covered in excessive butter, which was leaking out of the bottom of the jar housing them. The nuggets looked like pretzel nuggets but tasted like bread nuggets.

They lacked any pretzel flavor. Just as we began our nugget tasting, the manager stopped by to inquire about our satisfaction. We informed him of the nuggets. Although he did not sample them, he agreed that they should not have doused in butter.

Therefore, he removed them and ordered replacements. The new ones lacked the problem of excessive butter and perhaps had a hint of pretzel flavor, but they could never pass for pretzels.

D&B Dining Experience Lower Than Dining At Ruby

One of us got a salad for the main course, another had pasta, and I had fish. The salad was good, the pasta was OK, and my fish was delicious, however, the side of vegetables was little and cold. We shared a cheesecake with a pecan topping that was acceptable for dessert.

Overall, we ranked our Dave And Busters Orlando dining experience lower than dining at Ruby Tuesdays, whose food we believed was vastly superior to that of D&B. On the basis of quality, we believed that everything was overpriced.

Dave & Buster’s International Drive In Orlando

The fact that Dave & Buster’s is not even comparable to mid-level casual dining restaurant businesses does not speak well for the establishment. They might be able to get away with it on International Drive in Orlando, where they are dealing with tourists rather than locals from whom they need repeat business.

If this is the new model Dave And Busters Orlando intends to roll out in residential markets, they have a long way to go if they hope to become renowned as a good value eating location, especially given the impact the recession has had on raising consumers’ expectations regarding the value of dining out.

Dave And Busters Food And Non-Alcoholic Beverage Cost Of Goods

Dave & Buster’s reported a food and non-alcoholic beverage cost of goods percentage of 24.3% for the fiscal quarter ending July 31, 2011.
